SedDB complements current geological data systems (PetDB, EarthChem, NavDat and GEOROC) with an integrated compilation of geochemistry of marine and continental sediments. Data can be applied to studies of sedimentology, geochemistry, petrology, oceanography, paleoclimate research, and for educational purposes.

The database  contains a full range of analytical values for sediment samples, primarily from marine sediment cores. It includes major and trace element concentrations, radiogenic and stable isotope ratios, and data for a plethora of materials such as organic and inorganic components, leachates, and size fractions. SedDB also archives a vast array of metadata relating to the individual sample.

NEW UPGRADED VERSION OF SEDDB

SedDBv1.1 is now available in beta release.
The beta release may still contain bugs and/or errors.
Please report any problems you encounter to info@seddb.org.
SedDBv0.1 will continue to be available for use for a limited time.

Data are available for these sites:

Development Phase I started in July 2005 and will last until June 2008. The initial version of SedDB (SedDBv0.1) with limited functionality and content is available for use, but is being replaced by a system with extended functionality (SedDBv1.0) during 2008.
