October 20, 2011: State of the Bay: Past, Present, Future - Revisited

The National Park Service (NPS), New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), and Brooklyn College are pleased to announce the State of the Bay: Past, Present and Future scientific symposium on Thursday, October 20th. This event is one of a series of symposia anticipated to occur every few years to highlight on-going and emerging research. Topics will address a range of issues impacting the ecology of Jamaica Bay, a unique and irreplaceable ecological resource that has survived and often thrived alongside human habitats.

It is important to us to effectively communicate and understand the scientific research efforts and proposals occurring within the Bay and other neighboring estuarine systems to provide information and guidance of future improvement efforts. We invite you to join us for a day of informative presentations on the research efforts to improve water quality and ecological habitat in Jamaica Bay.
