Abstract:
The National Park Service (NPS) collects water quality data from the Rockaway Inlet into the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. The measurements include air temperature, water depth, and secchi disk depth, as well as top and bottom measurements of water sample temperature, salinity, pH, conductivity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, ortho-phosphate, chlorophyll-a, total coliform, fecal coliform, enterococcus bacteria, total chlorine, and free chlorine. The temporal coverage of the data spans 11 years from January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2011.
Purpose: To provide water quality measurements in an area stretching from Rockaway Inlet into the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
