The U.S. Baseline Resilience Indicators for Communities (BRIC) Index Grids, 2020 data set contains gridded layers for the Hazards Vulnerability and Resilience Institute's (HVRI) Baseline Resilience Indicators for Communities (BRIC) index. BRIC aims to help identify communities that are resilient to natural hazards based on 50 variables sorted into six capitals (Social, Economic, Community, Institutional, Housing and Infrastructural, and Environmental) based on county-level inputs from 2020. Capital scores range from 0 to 1, based on min-maxed variables, with 1 indicating higher resilience counties and 0 representing lower resilience counties. BRIC scores are the sum of all capital scores and range from 0 to 6, with 6 indicating highest community resilience and 0 indicating lowest community resilience. |
